Sun Shines for Family Fun Day

Community events are one of our favourite things to host. It's a great opportunity for the people of Dereham to come together in celebration of a special occaision. We host as many of these events as possible and are always on the lookout for new ways to bring the community together.

In the summer, this comes in the form of our family fun day.

This year’s Family Fun Day on 24 August was a great success and enjoyed by both local residents and people visiting the town during their summer holidays.

We welcomed families with children of all ages down to Dereham to enjoy all the family fun that we had to offer.

With free face painting for children, balloon modelling, street entertainers, musicians, stilt walkers and the ever popular Punch & Judy there was something for everyone.

We wanted to take our fun day to the next level this year, to do this we welcomed some furry and  not so furry animals to Dereham. There was the chance to groom a gorgeous miniature pony, to stroke a friendly ferret and for the brave ones to hold an enormous snake!

Many of the stores joined in with special offers and events and they were joined by a number of pop up shops including food and coffee stands.

It was great to get all of the stores involved and provide opprotunity to small local businesses who were able to sell the products to the people of Dereham. We hope to work with them again in the future.
